Google and ServiceNow announce new partnership focused on enterprise AI growth
Google (GOOG, GOOGL) and ServiceNow (NOW) on Wednesday announced plans to bring ServiceNow’s Now Platform to Google’s Cloud Marketplace, giving enterprises access to ServiceNow’s suite of services via Google’s Cloud system. The move builds on the duo’s previous partnership and ensures that ServiceNow customers will gain access to both companies’ AI capabilities to complete tasks related to customer relationship management, security, and IT needs in one place. “We’re putting ServiceNow plus Google Cloud together, and we’re delivering the ServiceNow platform’s full suite of workflow automation and AI-powered tools on [Google Cloud Platform],†ServiceNow CEO Bill McDermott told Yahoo Finance. “ServiceNow will launch on the Google Cloud Marketplace and Google Distributed Cloud to address multibillion-dollar demand for both private- and public-sector organizations alike.†The move means that ServiceNow users will be able to quickly access data via both ServiceNow’s platform and Google Cloud from one location, as well as via specialized AI agents. According to Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, the team-up means users will also be able to take advantage of agentic AI that will be able to reason over data from both ServiceNow and Google Cloud. Agentic AI is a form of AI that takes advantage of AI agents, which are a type of AI application that can perform multiple tasks automatically or with user supervision. “We do believe that agentic AI is the key thing to unlocking the real question on automation, productivity,†Kurian explained. According to Kurian, the partnership will help businesses improve employee hiring and development by allowing human resources departments to cross-reference business development plans with data they store in Google’s cloud to get a better understanding of employee performance and growth. “That’s the heart of what we’re trying to do with this, is to integrate it, to improve automation, to simplify things, and remove the silos, so that organizations can get that real productivity lift that they’re looking for,†Kurian said.
